New GHS tennis lineup works in debut

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- A revamped Greencastle girls' tennis lineup provided the Tiger Cubs with a 4-1 victory over Southmont Tuesday night at home.

No. 1 singles player Kelsey Hennette continued her win streak with a two set win over Ashlee Richardson. Hennette won 6-4, 6-0.

Carol LaFoe moved back into the No. 3 singles slot and came up with an impressive win over Hannah Wheeler 6-3, 6-1. Rena Warren dropped her match against Karly Sims in the No. 3 singles match, 2-6, 4-6.

In doubles action, the No. 1 team of Kayla Birt and Savannah Provine continued to dominate their competition, defeating Aubri Rush and Jenna Whalen 6-2, 6-1. The Tiger Cubs No. 2 doubles team of Emma Kaiser and Kristen Flint defeated Haleigh Moore and Brooke Wininger 6-3, 6-1.

Greencastle also won the junior varsity match 6-3.

Greencastle will travel to North Montgomery today at 5 p.m.
