South Putnam's new assistant coach Emmitt Carney, Indiana Bulls pitching coach and Associate Scout for the Atlanta Braves, is helping draw college and pro level attention to South's baseball players.

On Tuesday, junior Jon Davidson received an invitation from the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association, to participate in the annual Indiana High School North/South All Star Series. The All Star Series features Indiana's top senior players and will be held at Huntington University. Davidson will take part in the Junior Showcase on Thursday, July 12. Numerous college coaches and pro scouts will be in attendance and the exposure could prove to be very valuable for Davidson's baseball future. Last year there were nine pro scouts in attendance along with 39 college coaches.

"I am very happy that Jon has received this opportunity. He has worked very hard this season to improve his skills and we expect to see great things from him next year as a senior. Prior to this year, I'm not sure Jon realized his true potential. Now we're working very hard to help see that potential become reality. Jon's positive attitude, competitive spirit, and leadership are the type of characteristics you love having in a ball player.," said South Putnam coach Harold
