Mary A. Casida, 89, Cloverdale, died Sunday at The Waters of Greencastle.

Born in Eminence, she was the daughter of Emil E. and Nora (Balay) Ogles.

She was a 1936 graduate of Eminence High School, a long-time member of the Millgrove Methodist Church, and helped run the family turkey farm for many years. She volunteered in the genealogy department of the Putman County Public Library and had published a book on the Casida family history.

She is survived by two sons, Ralph Casida and wife Fay, Cloverdale, and Michael Casida and wife Patsy, Rapides Station, La.; four daughters, Mary Casida McKamey and husband Renos, Cloverdale, Sheila Casida Reeves and husband Jim, Columbus, Alicia Casida Shaw and husband Harvey, Columbus, and Martha N. Casida of Cloverdale; a sister, Lelia D. Collin, Tampa, Fla.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. L.D. Payton officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Chapel Cemetery, Belle Union.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
