Putnam County Jail

Two people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* Matthew James Doll, 19, Reelsville, was booked in at 12:46 p.m. Wednesday for battery. He was arrested by Trooper Chris Harcourt.

* Stephen M. Underwood, 29, St. Claire, Ill., was booked in at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday for possession of marijuana. He was arrested by Trooper Charlie Boller.

Sheriff's Dept.

The theft of a vehicle is being investigated by the Putnam County Sheriff's Dept.

Deputy Doug Nally reported that Vivian Sahl, Reelsville, said her car, a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro, was taken for a test drive on July 19 by Thomas L. Miller, 37, and he never returned with the car. She reported the car stolen on July 20, and she identified Miller as the suspect after looking at a jail photo of him.

The license plate on the car is 67Q2635. Anyone who sees the vehicle can contact the sheriff's department at 653-3211.

Fire Runs

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to two runs recently.

On Thursday:

* At 2:33 p.m. firefighters responded to a motorcycle accident at 1019 Indianapolis Road in front of Wendy's. A motorcycle ran into a mini van. Firefighters performed cleanup and were back on station at 3:12 p.m.

* At 3:08 p.m. firefighters were called to assist Reelsville fire with a structure fire at CR 1100 S. It was a brush fire. They were disregarded and returned to station at 3:15 p.m.
