Greencastle Police Reports for Aug. 2, 2007

Greencastle police investigated two accidents recently.

At 11:30 a.m. Wednes-day, a two vehicles collided on Shadowlawn at Hillsdale Avenue.

Capt. Michael D. Hanlon reported that Richard Rooker, 48, Greencastle, was driving a northbound 1995 Dodge Dakota when his brakes failed and he could not stop at the intersection. His truck went into the path of a 1998 Toyota Camry driven by Renne Payne, 16, Greencastle. She said she was driving west and though the truck was going to stop, but she could not avoid a collision.

Damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

At 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, two vehicles collided on Indianapolis Road at Percy Julian Drive.

Officer Chris Helmer reported Max Nichols, 72, Coatesville, was driving a 2006 GMC Sierra when he stopped at the intersection. His truck was rear-ended by a 2005 Chevrolet driven by Robbie Cudnik, 49, Fillmore.

Damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.
