Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* Frank Eugene Allen, 45, Greencastle, was booked in at 1:19 a.m. Thursday for domestic battery. He was arrested by GPD Officer Eric Vaughn.

* Jenneya Maria Bruce, 24, Reelsville, was booked in at 4:43 a.m. Thursday for driving while intoxicated, public intoxication, and driving with a suspended license. She was released at 12:50 p.m. Friday after posting bond.

* John Ryan Sanders, 24, Fillmore, was booked in at 12:20 p.m. Thursday on a court order. He was arrested at PCJ.

* Michael P. Fulk, 43, Cloverdale, was booked in at 2:10 a.m. Friday for public intoxication, disorderly conduct and domestic battery. He was arrested by Greencastle Officer Jeff Modlin.

* Donnie Melvin Coffman, 57, Greencastle, was booked in at 10:10 a.m. Friday for child molesting. He was arrested by Det. Randy Seipel and Michael Collins.

* Benjamin Matthew Fox, 30, Greencastle, was booked in at 1:40 p.m. Friday. He was arrested by Deputies Josh Boller and Gregg Slover.

* Melissa Rose Fox, 27, Greencastle, was booked in at 1:40 p.m. Friday for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.

Sheriff's Dept.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Department investigated three recent accidents.

* At 6:28 a.m. Tuesday, a car struck a deer on U.S. 40 at CR 500 West.

Deputy Dan Wallace reported that Lisa Slater, Brazil, driving a 2006 Dodge Charger, was eastbound when the deer ran into the roadway and she could not avoid the collision.

Damage was estimated at $1,000-2,500.

* At 2:35 a.m. Thursday, a car swerved to miss a raccoon and ran off the road.

Deputy Tom Helmer reported that Jenneya Bruce, Indianapolis, driving a 1995 Plymouth Neon, was westbound on CR 175 West (Manhattan) when the animal ran into the roadway. She drove off the road and struck the ditch. She was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Damage was estimated at $2,500-5,000.

* At 5:30 a.m. Thursday, a car hit a deer on U.S. 36 at U.S. 231.

Deputy Tom Helmer reported that Joyce Huber, 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, was westbound on U.S. 36 when the deer ran into the roadway and she could not avoid hitting it.

Damage was estimated at $2,500-5,000.
