Until then, the Greencastle Aquatics Center will run with modified hours of operation. The Aquatics Center will continue its regular hours of operation through Monday, Aug. 13 and again on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 18-19.

Those hours are: 11 a.m.-noon, adult lap (Saturdays and Monday), noon-5 p.m., open swim, 5-6:30 p.m., family swim, 6:30-8 p.m., open swim (with the exception of 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14).

The pool will operate under special hours from Tuesday to Friday, Aug. 14-17. Each day will begin with an extended adult lap/swim from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The public can enjoy the pool during lunch break with this special 18-years-and- older designated time. Open swim will be conducted from 4-8 p.m. each day.

Four more special events are set prior to the close of the season. The first is the season-end Back to School Splash Bash from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13. Special games, music and prizes will be conducted during this special night. Splash balls and diving toys will be allowed that evening. Everyone is invited and season pool passes apply.

The second is a special night for seniors. A Senior Swim for anyone 50 years or older is set for 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14. The pool will have special music that evening and special floating rafts are welcome. There is a fee of $3 per person, but season pool passes do apply.

The Aquatics Center is going to the dogs for this final event of the year. From 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, the Greencastle Aquatics Center is hosting a "Soggy Doggy Day!" All dogs are invited to come race and play in the pool. Special games and contests will be conducted and some prizes awarded. All dogs should be led by leash, while on deck.
