Clovers drop match

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale Clovers volleyball squad dropped its first home match of the season, losing to South Vermillion in three games Monday night. The Clovers lost 23-25, 23-25 and 15-25.

Allie Franklin led the Clovers with seven points, with Ashley Koosman and Kristen McCammon following with five each. Erica Lotz added four and Maria Skiles had two.

In assists, Lotz led the way with five, with Skiles and Kaileigh Sparks recording three each.

Koosman contributed six kills, Whitney Bond and Elizabeth Cheatham had two each.

Cheatham recorded 11 blocks, with Alesha Evans adding three.

Franklin led the Clovers with 16 digs, followed by McCammon with 12, Koosman with 11 and Lotz with 10.

"I thought this would be a good match and that South Vermillion would come into this match fired up," CHS head coach Kathy Moore said. "There were some terrific rallies and digs by both teams."

The Clovers will travel to Clay City today at 6 p.m.
