Geraldine W. Erpelding

Geraldine W. "Geri" Erpelding, 86, Greencastle, died Friday.

Born in Rinebeck, Iowa, she was the daughter of Louis and C. Eva Black Weber. She married Alvin J. Erpelding on Sept. 2, 1948, and he survives.

She was a 52-year member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and taught religious education for many years.

She was also a member of the Ladies Guild, Bible Study Group, Fatima Rosary Group and she owned and operated Beauty by Geri until her retirement in 1988.

Additional survivors include children Louis E. Erpelding, Kokomo, and Anne M. Woods and husband David, Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Jack Weber and wife Vera, Traer, Iowa; three grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Louene Baker and Mary W. Schmitz, and brother Joe Weber.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Greencastle, with burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
