Cougar volleyball falls to Athenians in three games

CRAWFORDSVILLE - On Tuesday, the North Putnam volleyball team dropped its contest with Crawfordsville in three games. The Cougars lost 25-20, 25-14 and 25-22.

Taylor Alles tallied eight kills, two digs, two aces, one block and one assist, while Kacy Wendling added 16 assists and one dig.

Ashley Doyle contributed nine digs, three kills and one assist block, with Logan Doyle adding eight digs, three kills and one ace. Kayla Green had four kills; three digs, one ace and one block for the Cougars and Carlye McGaughey had five digs and two kills. Tippany Tippin added one kill.

" Crawfordsville is a very solid team," Cougar head coach Michelle Spencer stated. "I wish we could see what our team could do against a team like that when we are playing our best volleyball. We had moments of greatness, but we were unable to sustain that type of intensity tonight."

The junior varsity also lost 25-8 and 25-8.

North Putnam will host Cascade at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
