Community invited to DPU  game

Wednesday, September 12, 2007

As the DePauw Tigers begin their 2007 home football season, the University's students, faculty and staff and the people of Putnam County are invited to come together to celebrate the community's spirit.

Saturday is Community Day at Blackstock Stadium. All fans will be admitted free to the 1 p.m. game between DePauw and Centre College and all spectators will receive a free DVD of the 2001 Monon Bell Classic (while supplies last), one of the historic series' all-time greatest games.

As the 2007-08 academic year marks the final year of the presidency of Robert G. Bottoms, who has led DePauw since 1986, a special presentation will be made before kickoff to commemorate the many contibutions he has made to the University and surrounding community.

The Tigers return 10 starters on offense and 3 on defense from last year's 6-4 squad. They're led by Matt Walker, the 1999 DePauw University graduate who begins his second year helming the football program.
