Clovers split with Tri-West

LIZTON -- Cloverdale's cross country teams traveled to Tri-West Tuesday night for a duel meet with the Bruins. The Clover girls team came away with a victory over an incomplete Bruins squad. The Clover boys dropped a close one to the Bruins, 27-29.

Jenna Lewis won the event for the Clovers in 23:01. CHS took the top five positions, with Chelsie Haltom, Abby Williams, Ashley McCallie and Brynlea Mattocks finishing second through fifth. Samantha Monnett was seventh.

On the boys' side, Kyle Chambers was the top finisher, placing second in 20:53. James Fidler was in third. Ryan Dean and Chris Arnold finished together in sixth and seventh. Zach Waycott closed out the scoring in 11th place.

The Clover girls are now 4-1 in duel meets. The boys fell to 3-2.
