GHS boys' soccer picks up weekend win

SULLIVAN -- Greencastle boys' varsity soccer traveled to Sullivan Saturday, where they defeated the Golden Arrows 6-2.

Sullivan took a 1-0 lead on a goal from J.D. Lisman with 10:01 remaining in the first half.

However, the Tiger Cubs quickly countered when Eric Davis scored a goal nine seconds later.

They then took the lead when Pat Martin scored with 8:18 remaining.

Greencastle held the 2-1 lead at the half.

In the second half, the Tiger Cubs began to pour it on. Martin added a second goal on a penalty kick with 38:20 to go. Greg Lilly found the net with 31:51 remaining.

Davis then added a second goal with 23:58 to go in the half.

With 17:50 remaining, senior Kyle Thomas scored his first goal of the season.

The Tiger Cubs had taken a 6-1 lead with six consecutive goals.

Sullivan's Lisman added his second goal with 15:04 remaining to make the final score 6-2.

The Tiger Cubs will host Edgewood in JV and varsity action at 5 p.m. today at Big Walnut.
