Girl Scout Registration Night in Greencastle is set for 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Tzouanakis Intermediate School.

Any girl interested in joining a troop is encouraged to attend with a parent or guardian to visit with existing troops. Adult volunteers may also apply for a position with a troop.

Registration is $10 and forms will be available.



Ivy Gallery

Area 30 Culinary arts students will be serving lunch at the Ivy Gallery on Wednesday, Oct. 3.

The students are now working on the menu for the first lunch of the school year open to the public.

Battle recalled

"The Battle of Iwo Jima: A Survivor's Story" will be told at the Putnam County Public Library at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6.

Marion "Frank" Walker is one of the few survivors of the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War Two. He will share his memories about one of the deadliest battles in Marine Corps history.

Hear how the flag was raised on Mt. Surbachi. The program is free and open to the public.
