Putnam County Jail

Four people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* Donald Bell Smith, 33, Greencastle, was booked in at 4:08 p.m. Thursday for public intoxication, battery and a petition to revoke probation. He was arrested by Greencastle Officer Darrell Bunten.

* Robert Lewis Richardson, 37, Fillmore, was booked in at 8:22 p.m. Thursday on a petition to revoke probation. He was arrested by Deputy Doug Nally.

* Harvey Matthew Sage, 43, Greencastle, was booked in at 10:41 p.m. Thursday on a petition to revoke probation. He was arrested by Deputy Nally.

* Jayne A. Selvia, 47, Cloverdale, was booked in at 5:34 a.m. Friday for driving while intoxicated and driving while suspended. She was arrested by Deputy Dwight Simmons.

Sheriff's Dept.

One accident was investigated at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday on CR 200 West near CR 300 West.

Reserve Deputy Don Lewis reported that Michael A. Kessler, 60, Ladoga, was driving north in a 1999 Mercury Sable when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. His car crossed the center line and struck front of a 1988 Peterbuilt semi driven by Ronald T. Cook, 40, Reelsville. The car then continued down the road and struck the front of a southbound 2007 BMW sport utility vehicle driven by Amy B. Bagnoche, 40, Terre Haute.

Damage was estimated at $10,000-$25,000.

Lewis was assisted at the scene by Greencastle Officer Ed Wilson and Deputy Ronnie Campbell.
