NPMS football sweeps Eagles

Both North Putnam Middle School football teams traveled to South Putnam Monday evening and picked up wins.

The seventh grade won 18-6, as noted in Tuesday's BannerGraphic. Top defensive players for the Cougars were Eric Davis, Morgan Hensley, Trevor Smith and Laren Sanford.

The Cougar eighth grade won 36-12 to move its season record to 3-4. Scorers for North Putnam were Tyler Shorter, Kolton Everts, Brandon Kimmel, Blake Knowling and Jake Smerage.

Defensive stars were Nate Bryan, Nathaniel Crosby, Jake Worth and Hunter Logan.

No results were available from South Putnam.

The Cougars will host Monrovia Thursday with the first game beginning at 6 p.m.
