Lucille Hart Wilson, 99, Greencastle, died Thursday at Asbury Towers.

Born near Greencastle, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Miller Hart.

She graduated from DePauw University and immediately began a career in teaching, which lasted for 42 years, 28 of which were in Indianapolis.

She married John Wesley Wilson, a school administrator, and when they both retired, they had given a total of 84 years of service to the Indiana Public Schools. They enjoyed travel, and visited 43 countries and seven foreign islands.

They moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1974. She belonged to the Bella Vista Community Church, was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star at Groveland, and she was a member of the American Association of University Women and the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving are a niece, Katherine Hart, a nephew, Allan Hart and wife Gail; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, a nephew and a stepson.

A memorial service is set for 4 p.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Greencastle, with Rev. William Wieland officiating.

A graveside service is set for 10 a.m. Friday at the Bella Vista Cemetery, Bella Vista, Ariz., with the Rev. Dick Lindman officiating.

Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, is assisting with the arrangements.
