Eleanor V. Parham

Eleanor V. Parham, 85, Veedersburg, died Sunday at the Waters of Covington.

Born in Attica, she was the daughter of Charles and Lillian (Miller) McDermond and stepfather Roy Little. She married James Arthur Parham on Sept. 30, 1940 in Marion, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2006.

She and her husband owned Parham Funeral Home and Parham Home Appliances in the Veedersburg area for many years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Veedersburg and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Hazlett, Russellville; two sons, Stephen Parham and wife Diane, Robinson, Ill., and Thomas Parham and wife Elizabeth, Rockton, Ill.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruth McCawley and a son-in-law.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with the Rev. Rick Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Rockfield Cemetery in Veedersburg.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
