Old Fashion Christmas parade, events

Cloverdale Main Street will present An Old Fashion Christmas in Historic Downtown Cloverdale on Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1.

Friday's events will include free carriage rides, sponsored by Cloverdale Main Street, from 5-8 p.m. Carriages will be loading at 231 and East Columbus Street and refreshments will be provided by the Cloverdale Civic League.

Friday's events will also include at Christmas Tree lighting at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday's events will be kicked off by a Christmas Parade, beginning at 1 p.m. The parade will feature an "Old Fashion Christmas" theme and will be awarding 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes in both commercial and non-commercial divisions.

The deadline to enter the parade is Saturday, Nov. 24. Entry forms should be mailed to Main Street, P.O. Box 68, Cloverdale, IN 46120.

Free Pictures with Santa will be offered directly following the parade at The Santa House, Downtown Cloverdale.

Cookies and hot drinks will be served in the Community Building starting at 12:30 p.m., sponsored by Tuesday Getaway Home Extension Club.

Cloverdale Lions Club will hold a fundraiser, serving hot sandwiches, chips and cider. The event will begin at 11 a.m. at the old Smith Farm Machinery on U.S. 231.

    I go back as far as movies in the street next to what was Currie's Drug Store.

    Glad to see that the town is having events to bring neighbors together.
