Residents celebrate Lights of Love

The Tzouanakis After School Enrichment Choir, led by Kathryn Dory and Geoff Price, performed carols at the Lights of Love celebration held at the Putnam County Courthouse Tuesday.

Ashlyn Cox reads her essay "What do the holidays mean to you?" at Tuesday's Lights of Love celebration in?Greencastle. Cox received an honorable mention for her efforts.
Taylor Runnells (left) took home first place for her essay titled "What are you most grateful for?" while Kiara Vance (right), who read her essay for the courthouse crowd, took home second place in the same category. Other winners were: K-2 "Coloring Contest" first place, Quentin Coglan; second Place, Kaleb Troxal. An Honorable Mention went to Katelyn Bargiel. In the grades 3-5 essay contest,first place, Gracie Smith; second, Braden Watson. An Honorable Mention went to Ashlyn Cox. In the grade 7-8 essay contests, first, Taylor Runnells; second, Kiara Vance. Brooklyn Edgars took home an Honorable Mention.
Eric Bernsee (left) presented the Spirit of Christmas award during Tuesday evening's Lights of Love celebration, sponsored by the Greencastle Civic League. Winners Julie Martin (center), of Martin's Emporium, and artist Victoria DeWitt (right) took home the award for their storefront designs.
