ISP searches house for stolen property

Thursday, December 13, 2007

Indiana State Police found a "great deal" of stolen property Wednesday when they served a search warrant on a trucking company and salvage yard on U.S. 40 just east of Putnamville, a police spokesman said.

Troopers began going through the property and adjacent house at 105 E. U.S. 40 shortly after 3 p.m. They were still on the scene and sorting out the stolen items well into the night, State Police Spokesman Rich Myers said.

The sign at the front of the driveway read "Skene" and Susan A. Skene is listed under the address in the phone book.

Putnam County Sheriff's Deputies were called to the scene with drug dogs and took part in the search.

No arrests had been made as of press time Wednesday night.

Trooper Dan Hearon, who led the investigation, said more details would be released Thursday.
