Patricia Ann (Herrington) Skillman, 84, died Thursday in Bloomington at the home of her daughter.

Born in Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of Ned C. and Hazel (Housman) Herrington.

A graduate of Danville High School, Central Normal College and DePauw University, she was a caseworker and then director for Hendricks County Welfare Dept. until her retirement.

She was also a Danville Welcome Wagon hostess, teacher for Danville public schools and had been employed by the Wm. H. Block Co. in the sales training department.

She had resided in Danville, Heritage Lake, Little Rock, Ark., South Bend and St. Louis.

She was a member of Tri Kappa, Philamatheon Club, bridge clubs and participated in and taught water aerobics for many years. Most recently, she was a member of Canaan Church at Heritage Lake and a former member of Danville Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Rexford Skillman; children Scott Skillman, Newnan, Ga., Susy Meacham and husband Dick, Bloomington, and Sally Skillman, Cincinnati; and several grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Baker Funeral Home, Danville, with Fr. John Roof officiating. Burial will follow in Danville South Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
