Ralph R. Barnhart, 91, Indianapolis, formerly of Cloverdale, died Monday at Forest Creek Village, Indianapolis.

Born at Coalmont, he was the son of Oscar and Ethyl Bessie (Clark) Barnhart.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired truck driver for National By-Products of Indianapolis.

He married Elsie May Roberts on June 25, 1947. She died March 13, 2001.

Surviving are five daughters, Shirley Grieser, Pekin, Ill., Charlotte Hubbard and husband Leroy, Fillmore, Janet Sedam, Greenwood, Judith Benson, and Dolly Duke and husband Merrill, all of Indianapolis; sister Elsie Smith, Indiana; 12 grandchildren 27 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Georgia Esther Ramirez, granddaughter and great-grandson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with Bro. Eddie Smalling officiating.

Burial will be in Cloverdale Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
