Light agenda greets Russellville Council

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

The Russellville Town Council held its first meeting of 2008 Wednesday evening at the Russellville Town Hall.

In the first order of business, the council approved increasing the bond amount for the clerk/treasurer to $50,000.

Secondly, Council President Don Reddish stressed the need for the council to secure an Internet provider for the town hall.

It was agreed that further research was needed to select between TDS and AT&T and the matter was tabled.

Also, it was announced that newly elected council officials would be attending a "boot camp" in the near future to receive procedural training.

The Russellville Water Board, which has not been meeting, will be holding meetings on a regular basis, Reddish announced.

He went on to say that an attorney would need to be consulted to regulate the legality of the meetings.

In other business:

* Dianna Gorrell, who requested water utility records through the Indiana Public Access Law, informed the council that she had in fact received the documents.

The Russellville Town Council will hold its 2008 meetings on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m.
