Cougar swimmers split with Cadets

BAINBRIDGE -- The North Putnam swim team split its meet with Speedway, with the boys winning 74-57 and the girls losing 125-40.

For the boys, Kyle smith won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.04 and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.91. Jeremy Ban took the top spot in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:08.32

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Smith, C.J. Werner, Patrick Byrd and Chris Pierce paced the field, winning in a time of 4:18.63.

Katie Wilcox picked up two events for the Cougars, winning the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 27:01 and the 100-yard freestyle in 1:01.75.

The Cougars will host Cascade at 5:30 p.m. today.
