Cougar boys swim to a tie with Tri-West

BAINBRIDGE -- The Cougars boys' swim team swam to a tie with visiting Tri-West Wednesday night. North recorded five wins on the night for a total of 79 points.

Grabbing individual wins for the Cougars were Patrick Byrd in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:08.10 and Jon Taggert earned first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:15.20. Kyle Smith earned two first-place finishes coming in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.57 and in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.25.

The 400-yard relay team of Jeremy Ban, Colton Smith, C.J. Werner and Chris Pierce placed first with a time of 4:06.02 to give the Cougars the tie with the Bruins.

Next up for the Cougars will be the Putnam County meet at 6 p.m. on Feb. 7.
