Clover and Eagle wrestlers face off

South Putnam hosted Cloverdale in a middle school wrestling meet Tuesday night. In a close meet, the Clovers won 10 of the 18 matches.

Eldin Hesselgrave (100 pounds), Cody Atwood (110), Jacob Creasey (120) and Zack Couse (180) each won by pin for the Clovers. Jay Metzger (130) and Brian Dale (220) won decisions. Max Secrest (75), Noah Love (85), Tristen Martin (90) and Jacob Camacho (95) all won by forfeit for CMS.

For South Putnam, Winn (115), Wade (135) and Gardner (145) won by pin. Workman (105) won by decision. Balley (125), Wilson (140), Smith (155) and Hewitt (165) won by forfeit for South.

Cloverdale took three of the five reserve matches, with Tyler Howard (95) winning by pin and Law (140) and Metzger (140) each winning by decision.
