Sheriff's Dept.

Four accidents were investigated recently by the Putnam County Sheriff's Dept.

* At 8 p.m. Feb. 22, a truck hit a deer on CR 325 West near CR 450 North.

Reserve Deputy Dena DeLaCruz, with officer Mike Downing, reported that Gerald S. Bennett, 49, 3195 VanBibber Lake Estates, Greencastle, was driving south in a 1994 Toyota truck when several deer ran in front of his truck and he was unable to avoid one of the animals.

Damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

* At 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, two vehicles collided on CR 600 East at 875 South.

Deputy Adam Hull reported that Emerson C. Zook, 18, 102 N. Grant St., Cloverdale, was driving north in a 1999 Dodge pickup but was left-of-center due to the road conditions. He collided with an oncoming 1998 Jeep driven by Desta C. Carter, 65, 8981 S. CR 600 East, Cloverdale.

Damage was estimated at $2,500-$5,000.

* At 11;30 p.m. Thursday, a car hit a fence along Ind. 243 near CR 1000 South.

Sgt. Tom Helmer reported that Cynthia M. Bigelow, 25, Indianapolis, was driving a northbound 2004 Chrysler Sebring when she swerved to avoid an oncoming car. Her vehicle went off the road and hit a fence and came to rest in a field.

Damage was estimated at $750-$1,000.

* At 3:12 a.m. Friday, a vehicle overturned on Interstate 70 near the Vermillion Creek Bridge.

Sgt. Helmer reported that Maximino Resendiz Jr., 20, Weslaco, Texas, was driving west in a 1998 Ford Explorer when he lost control of the vehicle on the icy bridge. The Ford went into the median and turned onto its side.

Both the driver and his passenger were uninjured.

Damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* James Meeker, 51, Columbia, Ill., was booked in at 5:27 a.m. Monday for refusal to submit to a chemical test and driving while intoxicated. He was arrested by Deputy Dwight Simmons. He was released on bond at 3:27 p.m. Thursday.

* Shawn Roach, 33, Greencastle, was booked in at 11:03 a.m. Monday for false reporting or informing and acting as a bartender without a permit. He was arrested at PCJ. He was released at 3:53 p.m. Monday.

* Thomas Skene, 55, Cloverdale, was booked in at 12:11 p.m. Monday for failure to appear in court. He was arrested by Trooper Dan Hearon. He was released on his own recognizance at 4:07 p.m. Monday.

* Willard Bartley-Cooper, 22, Coatesville, was booked in at 12:41 p.m. Monday for invasion of privacy, domestic battery and sexual battery. He was arrested by Greencastle Det. Randy Seipel.

* Jeremy Hubble-Wilkinson, 20, Crawfordsville, was booked in at 1:13 p.m. Monday for failure to appear in court. He was arrested at PCJ. He was released on his own recognizance at 3:56 p.m. Monday.

* Shane Michael Flaurr, 22, Kingman, was booked in at 1:30 p.m. Monday for possession of alcohol by a minor. He was arrested at PCJ. He was released at 3:48 p.m. Monday.

* Donald Ray Gilley, 46, Cloverdale, was booked in at 6:15 p.m. Monday for possession of a controlled substance, driving while suspended and possession of methamphetamine. He was arrested by Reserve Deputy Joe Tesmer.

* Danny Wayne Hensley, 34, Bainbridge, was booked in at 8:54 p.m. Monday for violation of home detention. He was arrested by Sgt. Doug Nally. He was released at 8:04 a.m. Friday.

* Paul Andrew Brown, 40, Indianapolis, was booked in at 9:10 p.m. Monday on a Marion County warrant. He was arrested by Bainbridge Marshal Rodney Fenwick. He was transferred to Marion County at 12:57 a.m. Wednesday.

* Darrell Wayne Ash, 50, was booked in at 3 a.m. Tuesday for driving while intoxicated. He was arrested by Greencastle Officer Matt Huffman. He was released on $500 bond at 2:36 p.m. Tuesday.

* Gary A. Mink, 43, Indianapolis, was booked in at 2:02 p.m. Tuesday on a petition to revoke probation and driving while suspended. He was arrested at PCJ. He was released at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday.

* James E. Beasley, 33, Indianapolis, was booked in at 4 a.m. Wednesday for failure to appear in court. He was arrested at PCJ.

* Dusty Heishman, 23, Indianapolis, was booked in at 4:06 a.m. Wednesday on a petition to revoke probation. He was arrested at PCJ.

* Bradley Allen Asher, 21, Indianapolis, was booked in at 4:32 a.m. Wednesday on a petition to revoke probation. He was arrested at PCJ. He was released at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday.

* David Harrison Owen, 43, Bainbridge, was booked in at 4:39 a.m. Wednesday for check deception. He was arrested at PCJ. He was released at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday.

* Seth Campbell, 19, Greencastle, was booked in at 11:41 a.m. Wednesday for theft. He was arrested at PCJ. He was released on bond at 10:10 a.m. Thursday.

* Shane Randall Kilgore, 31, Cloverdale, was booked in at 4 p.m. Wednesday for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and theft. He was arrested at PCJ.

* David Ray Thompson, 48, Greencastle, was booked in at 5:48 p.m. Wednesday for domestic battery. He was arrested at PCJ. He was released at 10:13 a.m. Thursday.

* Bobby J. Crawford, 38, Indianapolis, was booked in at 1:52 p.m. Thursday on a petition to revoke probation. He was booked in at PCJ.

* Tina Marie Kennedy, 39, Greencastle, was booked in at 7:34 p.m. Thursday for forgery and theft. She was arrested by Greencastle Officer Michael Collins.

* Ashley H. Gellenbeck, 24, Greencastle, was booked in at 2:07 a.m. Friday for driving while intoxicated and public intoxication. She was arrested by Greencastle Officer Modlin. She was released at 6:45 a.m. Friday on $500 bond.

* Courtney Jarrell Wright, 24, Indianapolis, was booked in at 2:31 p.m. Friday for possession of marijuana. She was arrested by Trooper Neal.
