Joseph S. Zaborski

Joseph S. Zaborski, 62, of Jacksonville, Ill., died Saturday in Gary, Ind.

Born in East Chicago, Ind.; he was the son of Joseph Rudolph and Virginia Gorandi Zaborski. He was formerly married to Linda Evans.

He is survived by two sons, Joseph R. Zaborski and wife Lisa) of Greencastle, and Patrick Zaborski of Richmond, Ind.; three grandchildren; two brothers, Tim Zaborski and wife Sandy) of Lansing, Ill., and Greg Zaborski and wife Kathy of Richfield, Utah; four sisters, Roseann Rippe of Vale, N.C., Melody Zaborski of Cosby, Tenn., Corrine Sumichrast of Jacksonville, Ill., and Virginia Zaborski of Hammond, Ind.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and an uncle.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Rice.

Zaborski served with the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966 as an ambulance driver stationed in Germany. He also served as a Merchant Marine. He worked for ISPAT Inland Inc. on the Great Lakes and relocated to Jacksonville several years ago where he attended Trinity Episcopal Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Jacksonville with burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

Memorial may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
