James A. Frazier, 101, New Ross, died Thursday at Avon Health and Rehab.

Born in Scott County, Va., he was the son of McDaniel and Hannah (Reed) Frazier. He married Opal Stewart on Sept. 26, 1929, and she survives.

He was a life-long farmer and lived at his New Ross farm for 70 years. He also built fences for farmers.

He was a member of Harvestime Fellowship Church for many years.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Patty Woodrum and husband Woody, Marge Stultz and husband Joe, and Joyce Thomas and husband Art; two sons, Ted Frazier and wife Marilyn, and Ron Frazier and wife Leslie; 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mae Huckstep.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, with Art Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, North Salem.

Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
