The Putnam County Community Foundation announced it is seeking nominations for two new awards to be presented at a special women's only brunch, scheduled on Saturday, May 10 in the DePauw Student Union Building Ballroom.

The deadline for submitting nomination forms is 5 p.m. on April 10.

Each award recognizes Putnam County women who have generously shared their time, talents and treasures for the betterment of our community.

These awards honor a commitment to improving the quality of life in the community and efforts directed at creating a better and brighter future.

The two awards are "2008 Woman Philan-thropist of the Year" and "2008 Emerging Woman Philanthropist of the Year". The second award is designed to recognize the accomplishments of a young woman aged 16-25.

The awards were developed by and will be awarded by current and former female members of the Board of Directors and staff of the Putnam County Community Foundation. Chair of the Women in Philanthropy Task Force, Lynn Bohmer, stated, "The Community Foundation is looking for women who have demonstrated their commitment to philanthropy by volunteering for one or more non-profit organizations, have accepted leadership roles, and, within their means, have supported those organizations financially."

Nominations forms are available on the Foundation's website at www.pcfoundation.org. They may also be requested by calling Foundation offices at 765-653-4978.
