New Life to perform 'Bow the Knee' on Friday and Sunday

Tuesday, March 18, 2008

New Life Baptist Church will be performing the dramical/musical "Bow the Knee." written by popular songwriter Chris Machen, on Friday, March 21 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 23 at 10:15 a.m.

The musical will take the audience on a journey down the streets of Jerusalem, spending time in the dark garden, climbing the hill to Calvary, and rejoicing at the empty tomb.

In this musical the events of Jesus' life are portrayed through the eyes of the Roman Centurion, Anthony, played by Ken Grundlock. Anthony struggles to decide where his loyalties lie -- to Jesus (played by Ed Neumann) who befriended him and healed his dying servant, or to Caesar and Rome.

Another Centurion, Marcus, Anthony's nemesis played by Jon Tesmer, has his skepticism tested by his experience at the tomb on Resurrection morning. There are 38 additional New Life cast members in the musical.

The musical is free and open to the public. New Life Baptist Church is located at 51 Ridgeway St., Greencastle, where Sunday morning worship service times are weekly at 10:15 a.m.
