Everett Roy Lucas

Everett Roy Lucas, 76, Indianapolis, and formerly of Staunton, died Monday in Indianapolis.

Born in Staunton, he was the son of Roy and Anna Bullerdick Lucas.

He worked as a farmer and owner of a trucking company. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army until his Honorable Discharge at the rank of Sergeant.

He married Marilyn Sue Howald in Brazil. He was a member of the North Salem Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Dan and wife Jill Lucas of Roachdale, David and wife Angie Lucas of Roachdale and Dale Lucas of Indianapolis and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marilyn; one brother, Melvin Lucas; and one sister, Ruby Vaness.

At the request of the deceased, his body was cremated.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home, Brazil.

A Military Honors memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m.
