Putnam County Jail

Two people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* Mark Williamson, 45, Saunton, was booked at 3:14 p.m. Tuesday for failure to appear.

* Darren King, 24, Indianapolis, was booked at 3:39 p.m. Tuesday for failure to appear.

Sheriff's Dept.

Two accidents were worked by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department recently.

* On Monday, at 1:15 p.m., Duane White, 41, Greencastle, looked down at his radio and the tire of his car slipped off CR 400 South near Manhattan causing him to lose control and hit a mailbox and county highway sign.

Damage estimate is between $1,000-$2,500.

* On Tuesday, at 6:54 p.m., Matt Towers, 17, Greencastle, was traveling westbound on CR?200 North near Fillmore approaching CR 275 East when his vehicle left the roadway and hitting a ditch. At that time, the 1998 Ford Explorer rolled onto its top.

Damage estimate is between $5,000-$10,000.
