Ray E. Quinnette

Ray E. "Gene" Quinnette, 88, Greencastle, died Wednesday at Mill Pond Health Campus in Greencastle.

Born in Cloverdale, he was the son of Wilson A. and Ethel Ella (Aikns) Quinnette. He married Mary K. (Blaydes) Quinnette on March 15, 1946, and she survives.

He was a section hand for the Monon, L & N and CSX railroads and was a stuffer for the BannerGraphic.

He was a member of Cloverdale Church of Christ, American Legion Post No. 58, Greencastle, Brotherhood of Railroad Workers and RSVP volunteer.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Linda Sweet and husband Carl, Reelsville, Elizabeth Ann Zimmerman, McKenzie, Tenn., and Sandra Foster, Cloverdale; a son, Michael Quinnette and wife Becky, New Vienna, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale with burial at Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
