SP softball edges Rox

The South Putnam softball team defeated Rockville 2-1 Wednesday.

Sam Tomasino and Oceaia Boetjer combined to hold the Rox to just one run while striking out 10 batters.

South got things going in the third inning as Krystal Welch led off with a single, followed by Sam Stanifer's single. Welch would score on a passed ball and a Boetjer drive up the middle drove in Stanifer for the winning run.

The Eagles host Monrovia at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
