Glayds Hayden

Gladys Marie Crabtree Hayden, 84, Greencastle, died Monday morning at the Waters of Greencastle.

Born in Louisville, Ky., she was the daughter of Jessie and Elizabeth (Logsdon) Short.

She was a machine operator at Mallorys in Greencastle and a former member of the V.F.W. and the Moose Lodge, Greencastle.

Survivors include her five children, James S. Crabtree and wife Patricia, Calze, Ky., Patricia L. Buis and husband Richard, Greencastle, Earl Wayne Crabtree, Monticello, David G. Crabtree and wife, Barbara, Calze, Ky., and Mary V. Crabtree, Greencastle; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands James Clinton Crabtree and Otis Hayden, brother Sam Short, sister Hazel and a grandson.

Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home,?Greencastle, with the Rev. David Crabtree officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Run Cemetery, Bridgeton.

Visitation is 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
