North Putnam golf defeats Tri-West

The North Putnam golf squad easily handled visiting Tri-West on Monday, winning 150-172.

Freshman Aaron Vondersaar led the Cougars with a 36, followed by Jeremy Redman and Austin Malayer with a pair of 37's and J.J. Burns rounded out the scoring for North with a 40. Patrick Byrd added a 41 and Josh Mitchener shot a 46.

"This team always has someone who steps up and leads, and it seems all on the varsity has the capability to shoot low," North Putnam head coach David Fox.

The Bruins were led by Nate Rhodes 40.

In junior varsity action, North defeated Tri-West 187-217 as Kyle Smith shot a 43 to lead the way.

North Putnam will travel to Southmont to face the Mounties and Western Boone at 4:30 p.m. today.
