Having a baby? Love pickles?

Monday, April 21, 2008

Pickle-loving families expecting a new baby in May could be a bigger winner. In honor of National Pickle Month Vlasic will chose a May born baby to become the official Stork Baby of 2008.

Along with fame and fortune, the winning baby and family will win a $20,000 U.S. Savings Bond and a year's supply of Vlasic Pickle.

As an added treat, the family who shows their love and dedication to Vlasic Pickles by making the baby's middle name "Crunch" will get an additional $25,000 added to the savings bond.

The Vlasic Stork was created to be the pickle's spokesperson in the early 1970's during a period of low birth rates.

"Since there were fewer storks delivering babies in America at that time, the pickle company created its own stork to deliver pickles. This contest is a way for the folks at Vlasic Pickles to continue the tradition of delivering goodness to the world," said Senior Brand Manager Stefan Aps.

Anyone interested in entering the Stork contest can go to www.vlasic.com and click on "contests." All entries must be received by May 31.
