GHS baseball gets first win of the season

SPEEDWAY -- Greencastle's baseball team moved into the win column for the first time Monday night following its 9-8 win over Speedway in 11 innings.

Greencastle entered the seventh inning down by one. Freshman Keegan Remsburg singled to right field with two outs and two strikes to score Kyle Johnson, sending the game to extra innings. Graham Shuee scored in the top of the 11th to lift the Tiger Cubs over the Sparkplugs.

Greencastle got things going early by hitting three doubles in the third inning. Justin Bartrum, Trey Ford and Kyle Nobles hit the double back-to-back-to-back.

Senior Kendall Faust pitched nine innings in relief to pick up the win. He only allowed one earned run in his appearance.

Greencastle (1-8, 1-4 WCC) will host Danville at 5 p.m. today.
