Nellie Prather

Nellie Prather, 89, Crawfordsville, and formerly of Fincastle, died Thursday morning at Hickory Creek at Sunset in Greencastle.

Born in West Virginia, she was the daughter of Homer and Ophra Price. She married Arthur Prather, and he preceded her in death in November of 1972.

She attended Darlington schools and was a homemaker and worked at Murphy's dime store.

Survivors include a son, Don Prather, Crawfords-ville; a foster son, Jerry Hurst and wife Marlene, Coatesville; two foster grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Nola Price, Belle Redman and Carolyn Blair, and two brothers, Bill and Boyd Price.

Graveside services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Brick Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Burkhart Funeral Home.
