Putnam County Jail

The following people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently:

* On Saturday at 1:23 a.m., Heather Offut, 23, Crawfordsville, was arrested by GPD for driving while intoxicated.

* At 4:43 a.m., Gina Ballenger, 20, Cloverdale, was arrested by GPD for driving while intoxicated and possession of alcohol by a minor.

* At 12:12 p.m., Peter Benedict IV, 38, Greencastle, was arrested by the Putnam County Sheriff's Dept. for criminal trespass and theft.

* At 7:13 p.m., Daniel Chasteen, 37, Knightsville, was arrested by the Putnam County Sheriff's Dept. for driving while intoxicated and public intoxication.

* On Sunday at 2:20 a.m., Shawn Storm, 23, Bainbridge, was arrested by the Putnam County Sheriff's Dept. for public intoxication and driving while intoxicated.

Greencastle Fire Dept.

The Greencastle Fire Department made the following runs recently:

* On Friday at 8:48 p.m., crews were dispatched to the corner of Franklin and Locust streets to assist with a vehicular accident cleanup. They returned to station at 9:04 p.m.

* On Saturday at 1:17 a.m., crews were dispatched to 1 W. Washington St. to investigate excessive heat from a short circuit in a heat pump. They returned to station at 2:13 a.m.

* On Sunday at 12:35 p.m., crews were dispatched to 3125 S. U.S. 231 to investigate a rubbish fire that ignited a small structure. They returned to station at 1:30 p.m.
