James R. "Jim" Albin, 60, of Greencastle, died on Sunday, May 25, 2008.

He was born on March 18, 1948 in Greencastle to Wilmer J. and Julia M. Friend Albin.

Jim was a 1966 graduate of Bainbridge High School and received his associate's degree from Indiana State University. His law enforcement career began with Vigo County Sheriff's Department; he served as Bainbridge Town Marshall and was a private investigator with Carson Secret Service in Lawrence.

His father preceded him in death.

Surviving are children, Jim Albin and wife, Juanita of Indianapolis, and, Jennifer Albin Lewis and husband, Michael of Indianapolis; his mother, Julia Albin Johnson of Greencastle; one brother, Stephen Albin and wife, Catherine of Greencastle; two grandsons, Cody Albin and Michael Albin; close friend, Judy Haskett; and the extended family of Dr. James Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
