Madge Baker, 83, of Avon formerly of Greencastle passed away Friday evening at the Clarion West Medical Center in Avon.

Born Nov. 10, 1924 in Anderson, she was the daughter of Harvey and Gertrude (Gordon) Risk.

She was a graduate of Anderson High School's class of 1943.

She married Verne E. Baker on Nov. 7, 1953 and he preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 2005.

Mrs. Baker had been a homemaker, a member and the secretary for the First Baptist Church, Greencastle; a member of Merry Jills Home Economics Club; and P.E.O.

Survivors include her son, Rex Baker and wife Pam of Brownsburg; a daughter, Becky Keck and husband Jeff of Brownsburg; five grandchildren, Adam Keck, Paul Keck, Hannah Baker, Samuel Keck, and Leah Baker.

Her parents; a brother, Lewis Risk; three sisters, Vera Hester, Evelyn Mitchell, and Fern Mitchell also preceded her in death.

Services will be held at noon Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Greencastle, with the Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday.
