Putnam County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently

* James Allison, 39, Paragon, was booked at 1:25 p.m. Friday for possession of marijuana, criminal trespass, theft and burglary.

* Donna Branam, 49, Poland, was booked at 1:50 p.m. for burglary, criminal trespass, possession of paraphernalia, theft and possession of methamphetamine.

* Paul Enders, 53, Bainbridge, was booked at 10:27 p.m. Saturday for operating while intoxicated.

* Cody Wilson, 22, Greencastle, was booked at 1:32 a.m. Sunday for an out of county hold.

* Angela Rivers, 44, Greencastle, was booked at 2:05 a.m. for violation of home detention.

* Sarah Smith, 21, Noblesville, was booked at 2:09 a.m. for trafficking with an inmate.

Sheriff's Department

Several accidents were turned into the Putnam County Sheriff's Department recently.

* On May 30 at 5:50 a.m., Richard Hardy, 54, Brazil, was on US 40 when a deer ran in front of him and he was unable to avoid hitting it.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

* At 7:25 a.m. Calvin Spann, 70, Chicago, was on Interstate 70 and believed he must have fallen asleep. The vehicle then turned right into the guardrail and spun around coming to a stop in the left lane.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.

* At 7:35 a.m. Angela Hudgens, 32, Terre Haute, was on Interstate 70 near mile marker 33 when a deer ran in front of her and she was unable to avoid hitting it.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 - $2,500.

*?On May 31 at 2:40 p.m. William Wicklund, 72, Cloverdale, was eastbound in the right lane of US 40 and swerved into the left lane trying to avoid Jennie Mitchell, 17, Brazil that had stopped at a stop sign. Mitchell was north bound on C.R. 44 West and stopped at the stop sign and looked both ways but did not see Wicklund.

Damage was estimated between $5,000 - $10,000.

* At 7:57 p.m. Herbert Deweese, 35, Brazil was southbound on 700 West when Jonathon Raguse, 21, Brazil, came around the corner off of 1025 South turning right onto 700 West. Raguse was going too fast and hit Deweese head-on.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 - $5,000.
