FEMA center opens in Spencer

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has opened a second recovery center serving Putnam County residents with flood damage.

The center will open at noon today and will remain open through Wednesday.

Located at the Spencer Elementary School, 151 Hillside, it will be open today from noon to 7 p.m. and on Sunday through Wednesday from 9 a.m to 7 p.m.

Representatives from FEMA will be present along with the American Red Cross to provide aid to flood victims.

Even persons who have insurance can still qualify for federal assistance.

You will need to provide your legal name and have your current phone number and social security number to apply for assistance.

For those unable to get to the recovery center in Terre Haute or Spencer, you may call (800) 621-FEMA (3362).
