Purdue Club hosts annual golf outing

The 10th annual Purdue Open golf scramble, hosted by the Purdue Club of Putnam County, was held Wednesday at Windy Hill Country Club. The winning team was made up of Heritage Lake resident Steve Sallee, along with Nate Sallee, Todd Sallee, and Kevin Gunn.

Purdue guests included assistant football coach Terrell Williams, voice of Purdue football Joe McConnell, Purdue Alumni Association executive director Kirk Cerny and Gold and Black Illustrated sports writer Kyle Charters. The guests all spoke at the dinner following the golf outing and gave the attending Purdue fans a comprehensive overview of all the Purdue sports programs along with their thoughts about the futures of these programs.

Proceeds from the event go to the scholarship program of the club to help Putnam County students attending Purdue. There are three recipients of the award for 2008. Tyler Trent is a 2007 graduate of North Putnam and a current sophomore at Purdue. Rebecca Seahorn is a 2008 graduate of Greencastle who will be a freshman at Purdue. Stacy Wilson is also a 2008 graduate of GHS who will be a freshman at Purdue.
