What's wrong with showing your ID?

To the Editor:

What is the big deal about the need to show a picture ID in order to cast a vote?

Just this past Monday I was required to show one at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute in order to have a medical procedure done.

Two weeks ago at the airport in Indianapolis I was asked to show one not once, but twice. I was happy to do so.

In this day and age they are required for far more than voting -- they are also required for obtaining certain prescriptions, cashing checks, etc.

Methinks you protest too much.
