Arthur D. "Dan" Stockton age 72, of Greencastle passed away Monday evening at his residence.

Born Feb. 11, 1936 in Albany, Ky. the son of Smith and Ruby (Taylor) Stockton. He attended Shipley School in Kentucky. On April 26, 1962, he married Judith Kay (Griffin) Stockton and she survives.

He had worked as a forklift operator with General Motors for over 30 years, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of the Groveland Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star; the Murat Shrine club; Special Interest Car Club of Terre Haute; and the Rod and Relics Car Club of Greencastle.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Kay Stockton; sons, Scott Stockton and wife, Jamie of Greencastle, Danny Stockton and wife, Melisha of Greencastle; two brothers, Harlin Stockton and wife, Florence of Greencastle and Bill Stockton of Kentucky; three sisters, Kathleen McCalvin & husband, Mac of Tompkinsville, Ky., Phyllis Jones and husband, Ray of Forsythe, Ill., and Dean Craig of Albany, Ky.; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Christopher Allen Stockton; four sisters; and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with the Pastor Hollis Shepherd officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday with a Masonic Memorial Service to be held at 7 p.m.
