Official: no word on tax bills

Monday, August 4, 2008

There have been no property tax statements mailed and no due dates set at this time, Putnam County Treasurer Janet Deaton has announced.

"When the new information is received from the state it will be processed and a new due date will be set," she said.

Deaton said taxpayers are welcome to pay toward their taxes in advance at the treasurer's office. Questions can be directed to 653-4510.

  • Does anyone besides me think we will not see a tax bill until after the election. Becuase of the fallout of taxes not going down until 2009, or that is what we are being told as they pass us the kool-aid.
